01 SOLID PANEL, NOT A FACED BOARD

Compact laminate — also marketed as SPC compact board — is a solid, through-coloured panel hot-pressed in a single operation from multiple layers of phenolic resin impregnated kraft paper. Unlike a faced board, there is no MDF or particleboard substrate to laminate, no hollow core, and no glue line for water to find.

That construction is the whole argument. A compact high pressure laminate panel carries its structure and its finish in one piece, so a cut edge is as waterproof as the face. Fabricators machine it directly — cutting, drilling, milling, forming curved edges and integrated countertops — without base-layer treatment, bonding or edge sealing.

02 SIX REASONS IT OUTLASTS FACED PANEL

Zero Water Absorption

Fully resin-sealed with no internal pores. It will not swell, delaminate or grow mould after prolonged immersion — the failure mode that ends MDF and thin faced board in wet areas.

Class B1, Self-Extinguishing

Stops burning when the flame is removed, with no toxic smoke and no molten drips. Passes fire inspection for malls, schools, hospitals and metro stations without added coatings.

Impact & Abrasion Resistant

The dense monolithic core resists trolley strikes, chair scuffs and hard-surface scratching in high-traffic public interiors where faced panels chip through to the substrate.

Acid, Alkali & Chemical Resistant

Disinfectant, toilet cleaner, oil, ink and acidic or alkaline detergent wipe off without staining — a chemical resistant compact laminate for hospitals, labs and public restrooms.

Dimensionally Stable

Minimal movement through temperature and humidity swings. No warping, cracking or delamination across wet-dry cycling, which removes the rework that deformation causes.

Machinable & Formable

Cut, drill, mill, form curved edges, integrated basins, continuous partitions and jointless countertops. Full finish range: matte, synchronised woodgrain, solid colour, stone texture.

03 SOLID THROUGH THE SECTION

Every compact laminate panel is built from four functional layers and cured as one piece. There is no substrate and no adhesive interface — which is why the edge performs like the face.

04 WEATHER-EXPOSED FACADES

Exterior-grade compact laminate panel carries the strongest argument for the material. Mounted as a ventilated rainscreen on an aluminium sub-frame, it takes UV, rain and freeze-thaw cycling without chalking or colour loss — a durable alternative to ageing aluminium composite and treated timber.

05 WET AREAS, LABS AND PUBLIC INTERIORS

Restroom Partitions

Cut edge needs no sealing and the core cannot absorb water, so a compact laminate restroom partition survives constant wet cleaning without the swelling that ends faced board.

Laboratory Worktops

Resists acid, alkali and solvent spill without etching or staining, and takes repeated disinfection through the working life of the bench.

Locker & Bench Systems

Impact resistance runs through the section, so a knock exposes more of the same material rather than a soft substrate underneath.

Wall Cladding

Continuous panel runs with concealed fixing, Class B1 rated for enclosed corridors and public circulation routes.
